Why it matters

Six good reasons to get in the water

Our instructors are all accredited Lifesaving Society or Red Cross aquatic instructors, many with ten or more years of teaching behind them.

How we teach

  • 01

    Water safety

The single most important reason to learn — being safe in and around water for life.

  • 02

    A life skill

Swimming opens the door to every other water activity, for your child and for you.

  • 03

    Fitness & health

Builds strength and coordination with real metabolic and cardiovascular benefit.

  • 04

    Low impact

Swimming is the sport least likely to cause injuries in children.

  • 05

    Confidence

Every level passed is a challenge met. Confidence in the pool travels out of it.

  • 06

    Friendship

Small classes of similar age and ability — swimmers make friends here.

The Apex Swim Team

Head coaches Calvin and Clarence have led the team to provincial small-team awards year after year. Three groups, from Development through High Performance, each with its own training load and time standard.

Not sure where to start?

Placement is based on a short assessment, not age alone. Tell us a little about your swimmer and we’ll find the right level.
